Isn’t it awesome how I’ve been neglecting this blog for over two months?
Or not.
Anyhow, my review of the 2011 update of the New International Version was published in the Winter 2011 issue of Priscilla Papers. That article has been made available online as one of CBE’s free articles:
Enjoy.

Thanks!
It sounds like I can keep my TNIV for quite some time. 🙂
Nice article, Jack!
Well-done article! I will need to add this translation to my collection.
I’m disappointed, though, that they decided to continue using the singular “they.” I understand the reasons for doing so (alternatives such as “he/she” or “the person” are indeed awkward), but I’d hate to be the person stuck with using a grammatically deficient rendering as part of a worship service.
Fantastic review, Jack!
Eh, if you want to look at the English language change right before your eyes, this is one of the places where it is happening, like it or not.
also, “fun” is basically an adjective now, even though it didn;t used to be.
Great review! Like Dan, I’ll probably be sticking with my TNIV for some time to come. 🙂
